Closing Remarks from Vice Rector of UI

Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh.

Dear honorable colleagues,

We’ve spent for 1,5 days for this wonderful APRU Multihazards Symposium 2021.
Although I believed the committee have been working for several months. Thank you very much for Scientific Committee, Organizing Committee, Speakers, Moderators, Chairs and Co-chairs, Judges, Room Assistant, Poster Assistant and Awards Management for all your hard-work in preparing this symposium.

I would like to convey special thanks for Dr. Christopher Tremewan – Secretary General of APRU; Prof. Takako IZUMI-Program Director APRU Multihazards; Christina Maria Schonleber – APRU Senior Director, Policy & Research Programs; Tina Lin – Senior Program Officer; Prof. Fatma Lestari – Head of Disaster Risk Reduction Center Universitas Indonesia and Baiduri Widanarko, PhD – Head of International Office for their collective leadership.

The Symposium have been attended by more than 1000 registered participants, with more than 380 abstracts submitted, more than 150 full paper been submitted, and 16 breakout rooms. This symposium has strengthen our network, amongst scientists, researchers, leaders, government, industries and the public derived from more than 60 universities and over 20 countries. Congratulations for the winner of best oral and best poster presenters. I deeply appreciate all of your efforts and I’ve found that there are many research findings and future recommendations been generated to further building partnerships for sustainable disaster risk reduction for all hazards. We know that for sustainable disaster risk reduction we need strong partnerships which addressing all hazards.

Finally, my sincere thanks to all the participants to make this symposium a success.
