Fatma is a professor in Safety, and now she is the Director of Disaster Risk Reduction Centre (DRRC) at Universitas Indonesia. She has the degree of PhD in Safety Science from UNSW, Sydney, Australia, and Master & Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Universitas Indonesia. She is a lecturer at Occupational Health & Safety Department, Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia. Her research is in the area of Laboratory Biorisk Management, Business Continuity, Disaster preparedness, Campus Safety & Health, Emergency/Disaster Management, Laboratory Chemical Safety & Security, and OHSMS at University & Laboratories. She teaches Industrial Toxicology, Chemical Hazards Sampling & Measurement, Fire & Explosion and Disaster Management. She conducted OHS and disaster research within Oil & Gas, Mining, and Manufacturer industries including HSSE Risk Assessment, Quantitative Fire & Explosion Risk Assessment, OHSMS, Emergency Response, Business Continuity, Fire Safety, Hospital Disaster Preparedness, Laboratory Biorisk Management, COVID-19 related research, Contractor Safety & Health Management System, and Safety Integrity Level & Layer of Protection Analysis. She is a member of Indonesian National Independent Team for Safety in Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas Directorate Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources since 2008 until now at which she has been involved in investigating major accidents and conducting safety audits within Oil & Gas Industries. She is also a member of National Safety Awards Evaluator for Mining Industries at which she is involved in Award assessment Team at Mining Directorate Indonesia. She is also the author of more than 30 books published national and internationally.
